Terms and Conditions

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using this election platform, all users acknowledge that they have read, understood, and agreed to all terms and conditions set forth in this document. Continued use of the system constitutes full acceptance of these terms. Users who do not agree should not access or use the platform.

2. Compliance with NJEC Rules

All users must obey and follow the rules, guidelines, and policies established by the National Joint Election Committee (NJEC). Participation in the election process is conditional on adherence to these rules at all times.

3. Changes to Rules and Policies

NJEC rules and policies may be subject to minor, reasonable adjustments, including corrections necessitated by system errors or operational requirements. The committee will endeavor to communicate any such changes to users in a timely manner. Material changes, where practicable, will be announced through official channels.

4. Continuity of the Election

The election is scheduled to be completed on its designated date. In the event of disruptions at a physical voting area — including but not limited to attempted attacks, sabotage, arson, or physical destruction — the committee will take all lawful and reasonable measures to secure the voting environment and complete the election as scheduled.

5. Power and Energy Contingency

In the critical event of a power or energy loss at the election premises, the election will continue using backup systems and the hard-copy (paper-based) election process to ensure that voting is not interrupted and results remain valid.

6. System Isolation

The main election system operates off-grid and is not connected to the public internet or Wi-Fi networks. This isolation is maintained at all times as a core safeguard against remote intrusion and unauthorized access.

7. Monitoring and Traceability

Where network-connected components are used, the system monitors and logs incoming and outgoing data, including originating IP addresses and inbound/outbound traffic, using established network-tracing and scanning tools. These records support security, auditability, and incident investigation.

8. Perimeter Security

The NJEC security team may scan the surrounding perimeter for unauthorized wireless activity, including attempts at Wi-Fi hijacking or rogue access points, in order to protect the integrity of the election environment.

9. Signal Management

Where lawful and authorized, and at the discretion of qualified NJEC personnel, signal-management measures may be employed within the election premises to protect the voting environment. Any such measures will be conducted only in accordance with applicable laws and regulations and under the supervision of authorized experts.

Note: The use of any radio-frequency or signal-jamming equipment is subject to applicable national laws and regulatory authorization. The committee will operate only within the bounds of the law.

10. Use of Security Technology

The NJEC team may deploy advanced and appropriate technology, devices, and equipment to enhance the security, integrity, and reliability of the election process.

11. Standards Compliance

The system is designed and operated in alignment with the principles of the ISO/IEC 27001 information security management standard, covering the protection, confidentiality, integrity, and availability of election data.
